Join the Arizona Department of Health Services` experts for an engaging and informative session designed to elevate dental antimicrobial stewardship. We`ll provide a comprehensive overview of Arizona-specific antibiotic prescribing trends, with a special focus on dental professionals, using data from the CMS Part D dataset. The session will provide the latest updates in antimicrobial prophylaxis guidelines for special populations, including patients at risk for infective endocarditis and prosthetic joint infections. Finally, we`ll work together to address and debunk the outdated practice of prescribing clindamycin for patients with a penicillin allergy.

Dr. Kelli Kronsberg, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP

Dr. Kelli Kronsberg currently serves as an Antimicrobial Stewardship and Resistance Expert at the Arizona Department of Health Services’ Office of Healthcare-Associated Infections. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Oregon State University College of Pharmacy in 2019, followed by PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Mountain View Hospital. She is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist and infectious diseases pharmacist and is also an active committee member within the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Her areas of interest include quality improvement, education, and multidrug-resistant organisms.

Dr. Tho H. Pham, PharmD, BCIDP

Dr. Tho H. Pham is the Antimicrobial Resistance/Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead at the Arizona Department of Health Services. She earned her PharmD from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale Campus, followed by an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at HonorHealth John C Lincoln Medical Center and the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Fellowship at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale Campus. Her current interests are antimicrobial stewardship, public health, outreach/education, and dose optimization. She is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacist (SIDP), and the American Society of Microbiology (ASM).
