The Pre-sedative History and Physical Assessment: The Dentists Perspective:

A pre-sedative H&P is a best practice and standard of care. Many times the H&P comes from a physician. This course will instruct providers on how to interpret the H&P, which conditions to ask follow-up questions, and how an H&P can impact a sedation treatment plan.

Objectives - after this course, attendees should be able to;
• Understand and outline components of a History and Physical
• Outline clinical best practices to incorporate an H&P into their sedation workup
• Troubleshoot positive findings on the H&P

Sarat Thikkurissy, DDS, MS

Dr. Sarat Thikkurissy is professor and director of the Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He obtained his DDS from New York University and his certificate in pediatric dentistry as well as a master's degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and Nationwide Children's Hospital. He also completed the program in advanced education in general dentistry at Wright Patterson and was in active duty in the U.S. Air Force for eight years as chief of pediatric dentistry at Ramstein AFB in Germany. He was director of the predoctoral program in pediatric dentistry at The Ohio State University from 2006-2011 and director of Inpatient.
