This is a free learning and social event for AzDA new dentist members (in practice 10 years or less). Covering ALL of the stuff that keeps you up at night. This is your opportunity to ask all the burning business, financial, legal, and administrative, questions that you've been dying to have answered. Because this event is restricted to only AzDA new dentist members, you're going to be able to discuss the same challenges and conundrums as other dentists who are in the exact same position as you are. An engaging, supportive environment, where you're guaranteed to make some new colleague friends. Oh, and we'll throw in drinks and appetizers too.

Matt Porter

Matt's combination of education, credentials and experience sets him apart in the field of dental practice valuations and sales. Matt's well-respected reputation has proven to be invaluable for attracting the best buyers and sellers. He is a frequent regional lecturer and author for the Arizona Dental Society, many local study clubs and has been engaged as a consultant by the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. Matt is also a highly sought-after practice valuation expert with a unique ability to apply accurate analytic methods as well as keep his 'finger on the pulse' of what real-time values are for dental practices. He is the only dental practice broker in Arizona who is credentialed as a certified business appraiser. In transitioning, appraising and brokering the sale of dental practices, Matt brings a balance of real estate, tax, valuation and small business acumen. His ability to properly evaluate and leverage both the quantitative and qualitative facets of a dental practice help to provide maximum value to his clients, whether buying or selling a practice. Matt has successfully transitioned hundreds of dental offices and represented countless dentists who desire to sell their practice, purchase a practice or secure a partnership. On the topic of practice valuations, Matt has been engaged by dentists to provide expert witness testimony at trial and retained as a consultant by some of Arizona's top law firms. For over a decade, Matt has served as both a President and general board positions for multiple Arizona municipalities where he has approved over $300 million in loans for the purpose of financing City-owned projects. He is also active in the local dental community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Arizona Dental Society Foundation and the annual Mission of Mercy event. Matt's previous career included managing the daily operations a business unit of 300 employees and contractors with an annual budget of $50 Million. Matt graduated in the top 10% of his class at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Science and a minor in business. He later continued his education by receiving a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University, again graduating in the top 10% of his class with an emphasis in small business/entrepreneurship. He stays current on his education by keeping his nose in the latest issue of the Harvard Business Review. In his spare time, Matt tries to find time for the gym and golfing, in addition to spending time outdoors with his wife of 15 years and his 3 daughters and 1 son. He enjoys volunteering in various charities, including the Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Feed My Starving Children and his local church. You can also find Matt reading two or three books at a time. His favorite authors include Clayton Christensen, Ken Blanchard and Stephen Covey.

Christopher Torregrossa, CPA

Chris is the founder of AZ DENTAL CPA, an Arizona based accounting firm that specializes in serving the needs of the dental community. Chris graduated from the University of Denver School of Accountancy with a bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1981. Upon graduation, he worked at the international accounting firm Deloitte and subsequently in to other regional accounting firms. In the early 90's Chris left public accounting and became involved with a company developing computer storage technology. During his tenure at the company Chris was responsible for all aspects of the financial/tax reporting and taking the company public. The Company was listed on Business Week's "Hot Growth Companies" two years in a row. Directly reporting to the CEO, he also was responsible for the operations of the company's foreign subsidiaries and split his duties between US and foreign operations. He founded and as the Director of the Price Kong Dental Practice Group in Phoenix Arizona for 7 years a business segment specializing in providing tax and accounting services to dentists Chris also taught accounting at the masters' level, managed an Apple store and supervised financial and filed operations for a construction, real estate development company in Arizona

Matt Kuczkowski

Matt Kuczkowski

Matt graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. degree in Finance, which led to his career in banking. He started at Bank of America in 1994, and held various positions in the commercial banking arena at BofA and other major national banks before transitioning to First Citizens in 2003. Matt began his 15+ year career at First Citizens as a Commercial Lender, earning himself numerous awards as a top performer. His achievements then led him to serve as Area Executive for the San Diego Area, and eventually to his current role as Regional Business Executive. As Regional Business Executive, Matt is responsible for the overall operations of the commercial and business banking activities for the South West Region, which includes Southern California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. Matt lives in San Diego, California with his lovely wife, Pat. They have two children, Natalie and Gary. Matt spends his free time enjoying family and is also an experienced motocross rider.
