Diagnosing Oral Cancer: Evaluation and Management:   (SOLD OUT)

This is an all day program with 6 CEUs given. The afternoon will continue from the morning at 1:30pm

This lecture would introduce the clinician to the diagnosis and management of oral cancer. The lecture will review not only how to conduct a thorough oral cancer evaluation but also adjunctive in-office diagnostic aids. Additionally, the lecture would discuss the epidemiology of oral cancer and the pathophysiology of oral premalignant lesions. It will also discuss risk factors for developing oral cancer and the signs and symptoms of oral cancer. This lecture will also introduce the dental professional to treatment modalities for oral cancer patients.

Lauren Levi, DMD

Lauren Levi, DMD, is trained in dental oncology, orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. She is a leader in the field of treating a variety of oral medicine conditions including the oral and dental sequelae of cancer therapy, orofacial pain conditions and obstructive sleep apnea. She has extensive experience treating patients who are receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and stem cell transplants and who face individualized dental needs because of these treatment programs. She has expertise in assessing and managing the oral manifestations of head and/or neck surgery and osteonecrosis and osteoradionecrosis of the jaw.
